Do you know what animals inhabited Mutha banks once upon a time?

Since climatic conditions and other factors in both the regions are same, it can be safely concluded that same biodiversity existed on the banks of Mutha.

Excavations carried out on the banks of Bhima river by the Deccan College team have unearthed fossilized tusk and molar pieces of elephant and jawbone of Auroch. Auroch now extinct, was a wild ancestor of today’s cow.

Next time when you take a walk along the river, just imagine elephant herds once walked this area.
